Diary of a Goose Nest (Canada Goose)

It all began back on April 12th and ended happily on May 7. The tyranny occurs in our lot every year, but this year the female chose a grassy spot in the driveway for her nest. We all had to adjust, well I should say the employees had to! Father goose is a fierce protector and can make life uncomfortable for those who venture too close.

I enjoy watching geese...yes they are messy creatures. I pick my steps and enjoy watching them anyway. Love their loyalty to each other, their teamwork. They are very protective of their young but once hatched they like to take them out for strolls. I imagine the daddy geese are even bragging a little! Did you know that geese mate for life? When one dies the other will mourn for a while before finding another mate.
